Ridiculous Dog!
Seriously? You want to lay there that badly, Scout? OK, be our guest.
She probably stayed like this for over 5 minutes! Note the crossed eyes. That is one ridiculous dog!

So much to do...
How did it happen? I was on top of it all before Halloween--chose costumes early, bought candy, and even purchased a select few Christmas presents. I was feeling good and in control. Halloween came and went (we still have a pile of candy to prove it), and WHAM! It hit me in the face. So much to do, so little time. Thanksgiving turkey, A&M football game, Christmas cards, Christmas presents, Christmas cookies to bake, write letters to Santa, decide where the tree will go in the "new" house, plan Madden's birthday (cause if I don't do it now, it won't happen till after New Year's), and on and on.
So...here's my plan. Try to enjoy each day instead of stressing about each day's to-do list. Live more in the moment. Even though it sounds so simple, it is a hard thing for us "planners" to do.
Feel free to give me a friendly reminder this month if you need to. I am sure I will need it.

A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America
"On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the men and women who in defense of our freedom have bravely worn the uniform of the United States....
...Our country is forever indebted to our veterans for their quiet courage and exemplary service. We also remember and honor those who laid down their lives in freedom's defense. These brave men and women made the ultimate sacrifice for our benefit. On Veterans Day, we remember these heroes for their valor, their loyalty, and their dedication. Their selfless sacrifices continue to inspire us today as we work to advance peace and extend freedom around the world...."
Thank you.

A Quote
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
~Abraham Lincoln

More Halloween Fun!
Trick-or-Treat at the Zeta House! Brought back fond memories. The girls got to see where I lived for two years. The house is more beautiful than ever with lots of updates and improvements. The tree we planted for our friend Susan who died while we were in school is large and lovely in the front yard. Several of us who lived in the house at the same time were there with our kiddos: Christina, Elizabeth, Bergan and I.
Halloween Night....visiting some our our favorite teachers, Mrs. Evans, Ms. Raup and Ms. Murr. Madden trick-or-treated for the first time without us with a group of her friends. Callie had her very first sleepover on Halloween Night with her best buddy Wynnie (the witch).
