Cold Front

Getting out of the car at school this morning, Madden proclaimed it "cold-ish." A quick glance at the car thermometer indicated it was 83 degrees. Hardly cold by anyone's standards. However given that we watched the same car thermometer rise to 116 two days earlier, one might understand that the 33 degree swing might cause one to feel "cold-ish."

East TX Tour

We had so much fun visiting my college roomies, Kevan and Lara. Regretfully, I have no pictures of Lara, Kev and I, but I guess it's all about the kiddos now! If I had my way, I'd pre-arrange marriages for the girls: Madden & Jared, Callie & Ben. And Ava and Abby can be the Maids of Honor. But they might have something to say about that. Oh well, such a sweet group of kids.

Corpus Fun

Our visit to Corpus was so enjoyable. This was the first time Porter and the girls had been to visit since last 4th of July! (Unfortunately, I had cause to visit multiple times this spring, but Dad is doing great now!) The girls arrived several days ahead of Porter and I, and from what I can gather and due to the rain, all they did was shop at Justice, watch movies and eat! When Porter and I arrived, we lounged by the pool, Callie took riding lessons, we did a wee bit of kayaking and boating (to Snoopy's!) and just generally had a nice, relaxing visit. Thanks, Mom & Dad!

Nana's Girls

Paula and her three grand-girls, Callie, Keelin (Jordan's daughter) and Madden!

Horses

Both girls had the opportunity to ride horses this summer. Madden had horseback riding everyday at camp, and Callie took a couple of private lessons last week in Corpus Christi with Grammie. They might also get to ride Cousin Texanna's horse and possibly one of my friend Kevan's horses before the summer is over.

San Antonio Girls

Madden and Callie were swept away to San Antonio with Nana and Grandpa for a 3 night stay at the Hill Country Hyatt! Their friend Amy got to join in the fun as well! They spent a day at Sea World where everyone (including Nana) rode the Steel Eel rollercoaster! They also turned their lovely hotel room into quite the fort, floated the lazy river, went on a hayride and nature walk, toasted s'mores and had a whole ton of fun! Thanks, Nana & Grandpa! Mom and Dad went out to dinner and had grownup food every night the girls were away!

More Camp Fun

A few more photos from Kickapoo. Madden actually got to see one of her new camp friends last week. Sarah lives in Corpus Christi and invited us to go see a Corpus Christi Hooks baseball game. So fun for Madden to have a buddy when visiting Grammie and Grandpa!
