"The mission of Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation is to protect and preserve the culture, tradition and living heritage of the North American Indians. The Foundation demonstrates its commitment to this endeavor by continuing the progress on the world’s largest sculptural undertaking by carving a memorial of Lakota leader Crazy Horse."

Mount Rushmore
Custer State Park, South Dakota
This was unexpected....
I guess we should have considered that we might be driving over a mountain pass as we were leaving Jackson Hole, however, I just had never looked at anything but a street map. If I had, we might have noticed that we were crossing through the Bridger Teton National Forest, and we might be at a high elevation. Indeed, we were over 10,000 feet. I'm not sure these photos accurately depict the size or volume of the flakes. It was a blizzard! In June!

Big Sky Country
I'm not able to pinpoint exactly what it was about Montana that made it the highlight of our trip for me; perhaps it was the quaintness of Bozeman, the adventure of glamping, rafting on the Gallatin, the fear factor of ziplining at Big Sky Mountain, or quite simply the endless blue sky. Regardless, it is a place to which I hope to return. Soon.
