Bat Mitzvah

We are blessed to have many Jewish friends in our neighborhood. As a result, Madden's year has included several Bat and Bar Mitzvah ceremonies and celebration parties. Sometimes, they are quite lavish affairs. Here she and her friend McKenna are attending a party at the Westin hotel.

"Selfie" Sunday

For those of you not quite up to date on social media, a "selfie" is a photo that one takes of oneself. If one is 13 years old, one must take a million of these per day. I recently hijacked Madden's phone in order to give you a smorgasbord of selfies.

My Dancer Girl

 

It was quite the dance week in the Wilson household. It started out with Madden's dance troupe performance last Saturday. It truly was one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Madden's group had some really great choreography. Hoping to have photos from the show soon.

 

Next, it was Murchison dance team captain tryouts on Thursday. They will find out results on Monday. She had to choose a slogan and give a little speech to her teammates. She chose "Madden will go the EXTRA mile" and handed out EXTRA gum to the girls.

 

We wrapped the dance week up with her troupe banquet Friday night. Madden won the "Turning Pointe" award from her instructors for the best turns, and she was selected for "Best Technique" by her peers. Proud!!!

Crawfish Boil

Shotguns Ready played the Wildflower Country Club's Crawfish Boil this past weekend!

We had our spring picnic at church yesterday. So much fun. Porter took the first turn in the dunking booth. Thank goodness Wendy came to put him in the tank! Callie got him too, with a little help.

Spring Soccer

The team formerly known as 'The Paper Plates' might have gotten their mojo back. Or at least they have located their competitive spirit. After 3 games, the River City Rangers are 2-0-1. Callie scored a monster goal in the upper corner in the first game, missed the second game (tie), and had 3-4 shots on goal from midfield in the last outing, a 2-1 win.

We travel to Temple to play next weekend which will be fun for Callie to have grandparents in attendance at her game.

Easter

Spent a lovely Easter weekend with Porter's family. Bill and Paula came to town. We enjoyed Sunday church service together, then Wendy and Tosha treated us to an Easter feast at their house.
