Lots goin' on!

We've been busy, and I haven't been posting, so here is a smorgasbord of what's been happening!

So, this is an ACTUAL thing.

And last week, she was Fish of the Week (teammate chosen).

Humans of New York

Love this personal spotlight from Humans of New York (9/16/15):

“I’m a rare book librarian. I get to touch books every single day. My colleague and I have a joke that we are Defenders of Wonder. A physical book assigns a sense of reverence to the content inside. It’s the same feeling you get when you look at a painting or hear a piece of music. And I think that’s something worth defending. And just like a book gives reverence to its content, I think the library gives reverence to books. The building itself is a masterpiece. So many famous thinkers have come here to study and write. Just being here connects you to that lineage.”

Finally reading this one.
If you are on Facebook, I highly recommend following the Humans of New York page. The stories are fascinating, heart-wrenching, uplifting.

Hole-y Smokes!

So, this happened at the Ranger's first game of the season. There was a big, fat hole in the field. No one was even near Callie when she stepped into it and went down. Huge bummer. She got it x-rayed - no fracture, but she is supposed to stay off of it for a "few days." She is already completely annoyed by the crutches and restrictions.

Game Day!

As one of my 17 faithful blog followers, I'm warning you. There will be a few dance team photos heading your way this fall. And by a few, I means loads and loads. Because this is Madden's new normal, and therefore, our family's new normal. Friday night lights (or Thursday night occasionally, if you want to be precise), baby!

And They're Off!

Zoe Marie & Reagan Jo

We hosted a small celebratory gathering to send the first two "Principal" children off to college. Reagan will attend Rice University, and Zoe is heading north to Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. We are so proud of you, girls! And what an outstanding excuse to get together with dear friends.

Long Time, No See

**I created this post several weeks ago, but apparently forgot to hit "enter." Oops!

Life has been busy and gotten in the way of posting. I'm hoping to make it a priority again. I will make an attempt to catch up with the summer activities so far. Most recently, we spent last week in Corpus Christi celebrating Independence Day, which also happened to be Wendy's 50th birthday!

Schlitterbahn is open! Not many slides are ready yet, but the lazy river and rapids are enough to keep all the girls quite entertained for hours. I can tell, this will be a future happy place. It doesn't hurt that the girls are allowed "charging" privileges on Grammie and Grandpa's account!
