Christmas Eve

San Antonio

We met my parents in San Antonio to go to the Trans Siberian Orchestra show. WOW! What a show - I'm not really sure how to describe it - pyrotechnics, amazing musicians, ridiculous hair-flipping, loud rock/orchestral music, crazy light/laser show - all rolled up into one!!! The entire trip was quite the cultural experience beginning with an authentic cajun lunch at Ma Harper's Creole Kitchen (meal cooked by Ma herself - yum!). After that, we had some spare time before the show, so we zipped over to see the Alamo, as the girls had never been. We had just enough time to walk through and see it all before returning to the AT&T Center for the show. Great day!

COOKIES!

The office girls had a rather impromptu cookie decorating party at our house the week before Christmas. Cassie is a master cookie decorator, a la Cookie Bouquet cookies! She gave us lots of instruction in the proper dough preparation, icing techniques like outlining and flooding, and decorating advice. I think we did quite well. And Kendra taught us, "If in doubt, add more sparkle!"

Martin Family Christmas

A few days before Christmas, we spent the day at Anna and Dell's and had a lovely dinner. It is fun for the girls to see their cousins! Aunt Lizzie had mentioned that they have an owl in their yard, so Porter made them an owl house to hang up, and we got Mason an owl puppet and book.

I have the cutest little band geek. Madden rocked the 6th grade band concert, mastering the bongo drums, bells, snare and tamborine. So proud!

Wilson Thanksgiving

We spent Friday with the Wilson family, and the girls got more cousin time with Keelin. She is just precious, a real charmer! Great to have the entire family together!

Cousin Mason

Madden and Callie had lots of fun getting to see their Martin family cousins, Texanna, Barret and Mason, on Thanksgiving day. Callie and Mason play a special game together called "Hide" in Papadeaux's chair! And Callie is teaching Mason some tunes! It was great to spend the day in Anna and Dell's new home.
