Soccer Game
by Callie Wilson
Sun blazing on sweaty faces.
Parents yell and cheer, fists in the air.
Children clash to and fro
around the field
each one hoping to make one shot.
Heads pounding,
hearts beating,
teammates tumbling, fumbling
to demolish the ball.
Eyes squint from the hot rays of the sun.
The sun blinds brothers playing football
in the pasture.
The coach yells, encouraging
a goal.
But then luckily, zip,
dash,
pounce,
boom.
Goal for our team.

I feel as if I am at a game after reading this poem that feels like a short story. Did Callie write this as a just because or was it for school? Would love to see more.
