End of Year Activities Galore!

So much going on...not enough time to post the pictures!

Callie's Last Day of Gymnastics

PASSED!

We passed our final inspection yesterday! YAHOO! HIP HIP HOORAY! This means we can now move back into the house. We moved out Labor Day weekend 2007. We'll be in just before Memorial Day weekend 2008. That is 8.5 months that sweet, generous, fabulous, wonderful, amazing Wendy has allowed us to live with her. That's 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs in her house. And we still like each other. At least we really still like her...I suppose I shouldn't put words into her mouth!

Almost there...

Well, I've been absent for a while. Mostly due to the house. We are almost there. We are lacking shower glass in the master bath, the gas hasn't been turned on yet, painting touch-ups, etc. Final inspection should be complete by the end of the week. Fingers crossed.

I was lucky enough to spend Mother's Day with my mom! That doesn't happen much anymore. She is in Austin helping us move stuff back in. We spent the day unloading boxes, washing dishes, loading up kitchen cabinets, and trying to figure out what should go where. All in all, it was a pretty nice day--I sure enjoyed the great company, and got much more accomplished than I would have on my own. The girls and I went for a bike ride/walk in the glorious 80* weather. I fear it might be the last of the fair weather days in Austin!

Piano Recital

Madden's spring piano recital was Sunday afternoon. She did a very nice job! Her confidence amazes me--she seemed to have no pre-show jitters at all! Miss Hollie did a nice job preparing her. Enjoy "My Favorite Things."

Old/New Guest Bath

Bear with me now! We've been living this remodel for almost 8 months now, and it is constantly on my mind. So the next few posts will be new photos of the house. It is very exciting to see some of the final finishes going up. Some of the before/afters are pretty dramatic.

Dawna asked when we can pop the champagne and move in. I am guessing about 3 weeks or so, but I have learned not to hold my breath!

Living/Kitchen/Breakfast Rooms

New photos of the house. The wood floors are about half done - they still have to do the staircase and upstairs; painters were there today doing touch-ups on the outside; and all of the appliances have been delivered. Getting close....
