Wide Open Spaces in Wyoming

We wish we had spent one more day in Yellowstone.

This guy walked out right in front of us!

The Tetons reminded us of The Sound of Music!

Big Sky Country

I'm not able to pinpoint exactly what it was about Montana that made it the highlight of our trip for me; perhaps it was the quaintness of Bozeman, the adventure of glamping, rafting on the Gallatin, the fear factor of ziplining at Big Sky Mountain, or quite simply the endless blue sky. Regardless, it is a place to which I hope to return. Soon.

"The Great Matsby"

A.K.A. The 8th grade Matador formal dance. Roarin' 20's style.

Life's Rough

Poor 8th grade girls. Can you believe we MADE them go to school on Monday and attend the 8th grade field trip to Austin Park and Pizza? We are some MEAN parents, aren't we? I'm not sure how they survived. Poor girls. This is the day's worth of texts from our eldest child.

Hi Mom!

They will be driving in two years. For reals.

Why would you make us do this?

Is that thing pointed at me?

Lunch?

Evil parents.

We are not having ANY fun!

End of Year Madness

The non-stop parade of recitals, award ceremonies, parties, lock-ins, dances, sleepovers is still in full swing. It is all good stuff - just leaves the mom exhausted!

This week we had the school award ceremonies. I am uber proud to report that both girls were on the 1st Honor Roll which translates into a GPA of above a 3.875. Wow! Not so sure I would have made that list!

In addition, they received a few extra awards. Callie received outstanding achievement in choir. Madden received an International Baccalaureate (IB) certificate Ambassador award (completing 3 years of IB work), the EA Murchison Award (over 100 hrs of community service), President's Award for Educational Excellence (GPA requirement plus teacher recommendation), Academic Excellence on the Thunderbird Team, Dance Department Best Leader (she was the only leader!), and Excellence in Photography. Whew! Very proud of these hard-working, very busy, and successful girls.
